Cooper S engine (one of the 1000 build Mar '64 - Jan '65)
Description/Modifications: The engine was obtained many years
ago and stored in a drum of water, leading to massive engineering
expense to make it usable again, but now it's been relined and the
crank built up and ground down again. It's +0.020", ported Mk1
head (with the bigger ex. rimflo exhaust valves), runs std pistons,
MD266 cam, and currently an HS4 on a MiniSpares manifold. Probably
end up with an HS6 when it's run in and I can get it dynoed. Will
soon put the Cooper S discs on it since the Cooper discs are marginal
really. Also have a Deluxe that's being done up to sell, with
probably an 1150 with flattops, Cooper head and 731 cam. And a 1971
Cooper S bodyshell and bits, that's going to need some major bodywork
done on it soon to stop it dissolving into iron oxide.

do i start? strange cross between a land rover and a mini. the engine
speaks fer itself, the car sits on a landrover series 1 chassis that
was shortened by 2.5 feet. hmm. the petrol tanks are 2 ten gallon
beer kegs. this thing is a heart attack on wheels. its made up from
several different vehicles. the wheel arches are ford transit. and i
cant remember the rest of the stuff. It has been a feature in mini
world a couple of times:) This beast is for sale. to good home. and
NOT for the faint hearted:)

200W RMS, 5-ways). Homemade dashboard with black nappa, oilpressure,
watertemp, rev-counter and speedometer at center, plus 2 speakers.

Description/Modifications: Shell is a Mayfair shell that I
found in the scrapyard. No rust at all but had a shunt offside front
and is very slightly twisted. Doors 'skinned' to outer layer
only and fully welded on, battery, battery lines and fuel feed inside
car. Engine is okay but is a bit tired and needs replacing at the end
of the season.

hopped up 1275 when we bought it, now has 998.
Description/Modifications: Car was modified when we bought it
about 1981, with a 1275 Austin America engine, gearbox, front disc
brakes and 12" Austin America wheels, front, and rear, mounted
on aluminum spacers. The front wheel wells were cut out to take home
made 15" wheels. The guy kept these so we installed 14"
wheels from a Datsun 240 Z with 1965 Chevy SS hubcaps. The car was
blue originally, brown when we bought it and red with a white top,
now. The interior has gone away. We fitted it with Midget seats,
welded to the original seat frames and Volvo 240 front seatbelts. The
dash is pegboard with a MG1100 speedometer, Opal GT tachometer and a
pod of 3 miniature SW gages mounted in the ash tray. The heater is
from a 1975 Honda Civic. The rear seat foam is used to help our dogs
get a grip in the back seat. The fuel gage has never worked, but it
is easy to look in the tank, so who needs one. The speedo cable broke
several years ago, so a magnet on the dash, now holds tach readings
for various speeds in 4th gear, with conversions for both 12"
and 14" wheels. The 998 does not have enough torque or power for
the 14" so 12" are now fitted. The 998 is about a 1984 and
came complete with gearbox, alternator, carburettor etc. An Austin
America air cleaner carries a Honda Civic intake snorkel. Windshield
washer fluid is held in a Civic bottle. A 4" drier hose carries
air to the heater from behind the grill. The car is getting rusty and
has set for 5 years waiting for a paint job which it will receive in
1998. We also have about 12, MG 1100's and Austin Americas that are
slowly being reclaimed by the soil, having set in a soggy hollow for
20 years, and having had many of their windows broken out by my
nephews.
